New owners Viacom launched a new
rebrand of the Channel 5 family of channels on Thursday 11th
February 2016, just under 5 years since the last new logo was
introduced. The new Channel 5 logo is made up of five pieces and
is no longer in a circle. and was designed by New York agency
Gretel.

Jody Malam, creative director at MTV. Bacon says the new look is
inspired by the idea of presenting ‘spirited TV with an emotional
heart’, reflecting Channel 5’s new positioning.
The idents are based on the idea of things making everyday life
better with each featuring a moment of surprise. The idents were
created by Academy, and directed by Si&Ad.
