Launched on 9th February 2003 as the replacement for BBC Choice, BBC Three is the corporations 'youth' channel. The first set of idents featured a series of animated 'blobs' acting out senes based on archive recordings.
IDENT - BROKE OUT IN BOILS
"I, I didn't like it, I broke out in boils"
IDENT - WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP HERE ALL ALONE?
"You get waiter who come up to you and say 'Oh what's a nice woman like you doing up here on your own?'"
IDENT - STARKERS
Blob1: "You're sitting in front of me now, absolutely starkers, nothing on at all. Are you a bit embarrassed?" Blob 2: "Not in the least" Blob1: "But you're old enough to be my grandad." Blob2: "I am yes, yes"
IDENT - AS YOU GETS OLDER
As you gets older, or nearer middle age, you get a kinda hankering for it to come back again.
IDENT - EGG CHAMBER
The female goes in, makes an egg chamber, and she lays between two and four hundred eggs. And they start to hatch after about two to three weeks."
IDENT - SMASH
Blob 1: "I mean I know he was a meany, it was a year out the game and that's a long, long time and you don't just step back in and find your match fitness and match tou.." Offscreen: "That's rather put me off" Blob 1: "Was that you?" Blob 2: "Yes"
IDENT - WOMEN'S CLOTHING
"Well, in men's clothing, I just can't, you know, one just can't feel comfortable. Whereas, as a woman I know most people thing you're exploiting yourself, but, I feel more comfortable dressed as a woman than I do as a man."
